HENSOLDT enhances the operational capabilities of key military platforms such as the Puma Infantry Fighting Vehicle, the Leopard 2 Main Battle Tank and Rheinmetall’s new Skyranger air defense systems.

Future Systems: MGCS

HENSOLDT is also striving to actively contribute to the development of the Main Ground Combat System (MGCS), a joint Franco-German initiative to replace the countries´ current main battle tanks. This project focuses on integrating networked sensor technologies to provide automated situational awareness and decision support, reflecting HENSOLDT’s role in shaping next-generation warfare.

By delivering innovative and reliable solutions, HENSOLDT remains a cornerstone of Germany’s military modernization efforts, ensuring the Army is equipped to face current and future challenges effectively.

Radar and air defence

HENSOLDT's Spexer 2000 radar exemplifies the company's commitment to cutting-edge technology.

Designed for both air and ground surveillance, this radar is integral to Rheinmetall´s new Skyranger 30 anti-aircraft gun tank, providing precise detection and classification of low-flying threats such as drones and helicopters – a crucial capability for modern air defense efforts.

Electromagnetic Warfare and self-protection systems

The Multifunctional Self-Protection System MUSS is another HENSOLDT innovation, equipping land vehicles like the Puma IFV with advanced self-protection capabilites, detecting and countering missile threats.

HENSOLDT's broader electromagnetic warfare portfolio further includes jammers and SIGINT (Signal Intelligence) solutions that offer spectrum dominance and situational awareness in complex environments.

Optronics for enhanced vision

HENSOLDT's optronics solutions provide advanced imaging and targeting capabilities. Systems like their high-performance surveillance and night vision devices are employed across platforms to ensure superior battlefield awareness.

Just at the end of 2024, HENSOLDT has introduced three new optronic systems for the Leopard 2A8 main battle tank and the PUMA infantry fighting vehicle.

These digital solutions consisting in the ATTICA GL Digital , the PERI RTWL Digital and Optronic Digital weapon station combine proven optical technologies with innovative sensor and camera systems to further increase reconnaissance and targeting accuracy under the most challenging conditions.
