It is the largest European strategic defence programme: The Future Combat Air System, FCAS for short.
P-8A Poseidon
The P-8A, a highly capable platform designed for anti-submarine warfare [ASW] and long-range maritime surveillance, is set to bolster Germany’s naval capabilities in the coming years.
STH Germany
The Chinook is a proven and highly capable multi-role helicopter, the trusted workhorse for numerous NATO missions, kept operational by various industrial experts.
Open Skies
The mission system for digital image data acquisition was developed to regain German eligibility for the Treaty on Open Skies in accordance with the requirements set out by the OSCC.
MGCS – Main Ground Combat System
Germany and France are working together on a state-of-the-art tank system given the unassuming title of Main Ground Combat System (MGCS).
NNBS
Under the framework of ARGE NNbS, three well-established companies work together on the future German short-range and very short-range air defence system.
Equipping the Eurofighter
By integrating sensor systems from HENSOLDT, the Eurofighter is being taken to the next level of development to be ready for the decades to come.
Submarines U212 CD
U212 CD is a joint project between the German and Norwegian navies to modernize their fleets by building six new state-of-the-art submarines.
PEGASUS
Under the name Persistent German Airborne Surveillance System, or PEGASUS for short, HENSOLDT provides the German armed forces with signal-detecting, long-range airborne surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities.
ESSI – European Sky Shield Initiative
The European Sky Shield Initiative (ESSI) aims to ensure the future security of European air defence. 21 countries have already signed up to the initiative.
luWES
luWES (luftgestützte Wirkung im Elektromagnetischen Spektrum) represents the German solution for Airborne Electromagnetic Attack (AEA) in an Anti-Access/Area Denial (A²/AD) scenario. It is of greater importance for several strategic, technological, and operational reasons.
