IFF Naval Cabinet
Integrated IFF solution for shipsThe challenge
Today’s armed forces often only have moments in which to make decisions and quickly take the decisive steps that a mission requires. Forces need an identification capability that enables military and civilian air traffic control interrogators to identify whether aircraft, vehicles or forces are friendly or not, and to determine their bearing and range from the interrogator.
Consequently, whether deployed at sea or in land-based training facilities, your forces need to interface with multiple combat-management systems that provide full IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) capability.
And because the platforms on which these IFF capabilities are installed can vary widely, the housing for the technologies used must be suitable for a range of ship architectures.
Our solution
If forces are to distinguish friend from foe, prevent friendly fire and effectively manage combat operations in the field, they must install and integrate multiple, interfacing combat-management systems that provide excellent IFF capability.
The HENSOLDT IFF Naval Cabinet fulfils this mission. Designed for integration into military vessels and land-based training facilities, its integrated architecture houses the MSSR 2000 ID interrogator and the LTR 400 DNG transponder to provide full IFF capability.
Full remote control and monitoring of the IFF cabinet are provided by ROSA software for the MSSR 2000 ID Interrogator and by an MCU-embedded web interface for the LTR 400 DNG transponder and to control the cabinet’s power supply.
