MSSR 2000 ID
Identify friends, prevent friendly fireThe challenge
As their main mission, your forces are tasked with aircraft identification, surveillance and control.
Surveillance and identification are performed with the use of long- and medium-range radars. Air traffic control promotes situational awareness.
Threat situations require quick and reliable decision-making to determine whether a particular object involves own forces (friend) or constitutes a threat (foe). To make this distinction, the MSSR supplies the necessary identification data before a potentially lethal decision is taken.
The required capability is known as ‘IFF’ – Identification Friend or Foe.
Our solution
The MSSR 2000 ID provides a reliable and proven performance in air traffic control and other capabilities, and has been proven by more than 750 delivered and installed systems.
The design philosophy of the MSSR 2000 ID family allows for different performance variants to meet different customer domain and platform requirements, while sharing common hardware and software to facilitate logistics and training for both operators and maintainers.
The design philosophy of the interrogator is optimised to integrate it into many different platforms, whether stand-alone or in cooperation with primary radar sensors.
The installations cover multiple ground-based fixed, deployable, or naval platforms, whether in a stand-alone configuration or a configuration in cooperation with primary sensors.
The standardised EUROCONTROL ASTERIX interface eases the integration of surveillance and IFF data into the command and control systems.
