The challenge

Detailed terrain assessment is essential for our soldiers to gain valuable tactical insights for battle planning. Correctly interpreting terrain characteristics, such as mountainous or flat areas, as well as vegetation and soil type, is critical to making the right decision on how to deploy troops.

Today, military personnel need to be physically present in one place for operational planning. In combat, this means a high degree of vulnerability for military command and control. In this situation, a single enemy attack can drastically weaken the military command.

Even in exercise situations, multinational exercises require a great deal of effort and expense for troops to practise across national borders.

Our solution

ACOP combines the advantages of analogue maps and real-time situational awareness in a future-orientated solution. It provides an interactive 3D visualisation of the battlefield for a complete overview, as well as detailed images for better orientation and assessment.

ACOP uses augmented reality glasses, such as Apple Vision Pro or Microsoft HoloLens, to create a realistic 3D terrain display and project it into the room. Soldiers can view the area of operations realistically from any angle and use different map models to correctly interpret the terrain features.

This fully integrated solution can be easily connected to existing command and control, and battle management systems using standard military interfaces. Situational information on land, sea and air force assets is displayed in near real-time and is synchronised between all systems to facilitate quick decision making.

ACOP enables you to plan operations, drills and exercises with up to 20 people, regardless of their location. Using the presenter mode, which includes a virtual pointer, the situation display is shared with multiple users. They can then interact and make changes to the situation as required.
