Protecting people, material and infrastructure

The aim of convoy protection is to protect military or humanitarian convoys from enemy attacks, ambushes or asymmetric threats in order to ensure the safe and undisturbed movement of vehicles and personnel, especially in crisis areas. This complex military operation requires detailed planning, modern technology and co-operation between different units. In view of current threats such as improved explosive devices (IEDs), drones and asymmetric warfare, the protection of convoys must be flexible and adaptable.

State-of-the-art technology for reliable defence

HENSOLDT’s convoy protection systems are designed to adapt to diverse environments, offering robust defence against a wide range of threats. Our solutions comprise advanced surface-based radar systems and multi-sensor technologies to detect and neutralise potential threats. By connecting different systems and platforms, our systems enable precise tracking and real-time threat assessment, ensuring early warning capabilities and heightened situational awareness. From defence against hostile drones to safeguarding routes in high-risk zones, HENSOLDT’s convoy protection solutions provide the crucial security edge needed for mission success. Our solutions can be easily integrated into existing defence infrastructures with high reliability and low lifecycle costs and are therefore a valuable investment for comprehensive ground-based convoy security.

HENSOLDT’s platform and force protection solutions enhance the security of ground forces by offering advanced electronic self-protection sensors. These systems provide early detection and response to radar, laser and missile threats by means of passive electronic warfare technology. Vehicles equipped with these sensors can detect anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) and initiate countermeasures to greatly improve survivability. Additionally, HENSOLDT’s jamming technologies protect convoys and troops from IEDs by blocking radio-triggered explosive devices, helping to maintain security in high-risk environments. These solutions are engineered for integration into a wide range of defence platforms.

Protecting manoeuvring forces

New threats demand enhanced detection capabilities. The Spexer family, which is equipped with next-generation active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar systems, enables target detection during manoeuvres. Its radars not only identifying threats while moving but also support on-the-move fire control. Their systems are scalable from radar to effector. Available in various sizes, the Spexer radars can be deployed across different fleet platforms, ensuring comprehensive convoy protection on both land and sea.
