IRV-MR
Uncooled thermal clip-on systemThe challenge
During missions, soldiers face a multitude of challenges that they are required to master rapidly and efficiently using their equipment. One of the main difficulties faced is limited vision at night or in poor light conditions, which makes it harder to identify enemies and potential threats. Soldiers also need to be able to respond to changing situations rapidly.
The use of uncooled thermal clip-on systems enables soldiers to flexibly adapt their weapons to master the challenges of darkness and poor visibility. This, in turn, improves the safety, effectiveness and readiness of soldiers in the field.
Our solution
The HENSOLDT IRV-MR is a lightweight and highly capable uncooled thermal clip-on system, designed for simple operation. It offers quick readiness in less than four seconds and features a video output for external monitoring.
The system includes two battery holders for quick and safe battery changes in all environmental conditions, accompanied by a central control panel.
The system’s impressive range performance includes a man-size target detection range of 1880m and a recognition range of 650m. Compact in size, with dimensions of 132mm x 80mm x 76mm, and weighing less than 550g, it provides unmatched portability. The electrical data of the system specifies a battery type of 3x AA 1.5V or lithium battery, with a battery lifetime of at least 6.5 hours at an environmental temperature of 21°C.
IRV-MR meets environmental resistance standards according to NATO D14 Handbook 2018 4.1.2.2 Thermal Weapon Sight Performance Tests.
