OMS 300
Ultra-Low profile mastThe challenge
Success and survival of submarines in contested operational theatres require situational awareness of the surface operational environment and avoidance of detection by adversary forces.
Optronics masts are a vital tool in the effort to provide this awareness. To help ensure that platforms and their crews will elude detection, mast design must minimize their visibility through radar or optical sensors.
Ultra-low profile mast push the limits of low detectability and are deployed in scenarios where the vessel indiscretion must be kept at a minimum. At the same time, they must still deliver outstanding picture quality at day, night and in the presence of adverse weather. This mix of requirements is a unique challenge for submarine optronic system designers.
Our solution
Meet the OMS 300 ultra-low profile mast by HENSOLDT. Representing the cutting edge in stealth capabilities, it integrates the latest sensor technologies, all in a smaller volume to augment submarine stealth.
The OMS 300 ULP was specifically designed to increase the stealth characteristics in the visual, infrared and radar domains. The high image quality and resolution of the integrated MWIR camera can be complemented with a SWIR system that provides improved vision in hazy and foggy conditions and a true all-weather, all light multispectral imaging capability.
This ultra-thin solution can be integrated into all types of submarines – from newly built platforms to retrofitted vessels.
