Quadome Naval
Naval radar for air and surface surveillanceThe challenge
Maritime missions are often conducted in hostile environments presenting multiple forms of threat that must be evaded or neutralised. With suitable high-performance sensors and related technologies in place, these threats can be detected promptly to protect crews and platforms while ensuring mission integrity.
This scenario calls for radar equipment that provides operators with maximum situational awareness combined with quick-response, accurate, resilient and sustainable shipborne surveillance and target-acquisition capabilities. These capabilities facilitate 3D surveillance by offshore patrol vessels (OPVs), corvettes, light frigates and support vessels, and provides mission-appropriate responses to adversaries’ aerial and surface threats – such as RHIBs, adversary vessels, fighter aircraft, missiles and UAVs.
Our solution
With the challenges and objectives in mind to equip maritime missions with advanced radar systems for effective detection and response to various threats in hostile environments, HENSOLDT has presented Quadome – a dual-mode, multi-mission surveillance radar for naval, air and surface surveillance, providing naval forces and maritime security authorities with unprecedented situational awareness and extremely short reaction times.
Surveillance mode is used for general ground and airspace surveillance, and self-defence mode is deployed in high-threat and target-engagement. Helicopter support is available at all times in both modes.
Quadome features fast track initiation to ensure effective threat evaluation, weapon assignment and a greater ‘keep-out’ range for effectors. Offering state-of-the-art technology, Quadome is software-defined to create a future-proof solution with an extended operational lifetime.
