The challenge
Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs) operated by navies, law enforcement agencies and special operations groups vary in size and complexity. Their mission profiles require radar technologies to support navigation, surface search, low-level air search and IFF capabilities. All of them face space, weight and budget constraints.
The radar they use must perform reliably in less than ideal weather, lighting and visibility conditions while providing an interface to camera systems and bi-directional links to any combat-management systems in use.
And of course, the radar must also be able to support marine navigation, collision avoidance, target surveillance and situational awareness.
Our solution
To meet these wide-ranging radar requirements, the Mk11 has been combined with the HENSOLDT IFF antenna to provide an integrated turning unit that brings together SharpEye surveillance radar capability and an IFF antenna system.
This solution is designed to meet the challenges faced by OPVs used by navies, coastguards and border patrol agencies, ensuring high performance in all conditions and reducing the space, weight and cost associated with these capabilities.
