The challenge

Soldiers face danger whenever they leave an armoured vehicle. Particularly in tanks, armoured personnel carriers, etc., a sense of safety and a reliable overall view for the driver are essential – so drivers know what awaits them and can quickly respond to any threats.
Driving over hatch can be dangerous, but navigating under hatch with classic periscopes / angled mirrors is not optimal, either.

Mission success for vehicle-mounted forces requires terrain observation and evaluation, detecting and identifying threats while tracking with absolute assurance.
Current multinational missions have shown that state-of-the-art systems need to offer drivers of MBTs and IFVs an effective means of visual navigation. In the theatre of operations, this is vital to soldier survival and mission success.

To see is to be prepared.

SPECTUS

Our solution

Meet SPECTUS – the multi-spectral sight system tailored to your vehicle, platform and mission profile.

SPECTUS combines an uncooled, thermal imager with a low-light-level camera. This gives drivers optimal vision with full protection while outperforming human vision even under severe conditions such as darkness, fog, rain or sandstorms.

SPECTUS focusses the view to the front and rear of the vehicle, and this is important for the driver. With the SPECTUS system aiding driver sight, forces can track and manoeuvre with greater effectiveness, whether the mission is to keep the peace, secure borders or protect civilians – day and night, in all weather and across rugged topography.
