SferiRec FDR

Flight data recorder
Plane on the runway

The challenge

Flight data recorders (FDRs) address several challenges in aviation safety by capturing critical flight information during a flight. These devices record various parameters, such as altitude, speed, heading, and aircraft performance data. The challenges that FDRs help to solve include accident investigation (similar to cockpit voice recorders), system monitor (ongoing monitoring of aircraft systems and performance, helping to identify potential issues) before they lead to accidents. As further tasks, he FDR covers pilot training and performance: also to be used to evaluate pilot performance and improve training programs. By analyzing flight data, airlines can provide targeted feedback to pilots, helping them refine their skills and decision-making processes.

Many aviation authorities require the use of FDRs on commercial aircraft to ensure compliance with safety regulations. This requirement helps standardize safety practices across the whole industry.
