Training for operators, technicians and administrators
The success of every mission depends on high-performance equipment and staff competence. HENSOLDT Academy is your reliable partner for training in new skills and technologies that will help your employees to safely and efficiently operate and maintain your HENSOLDT products and systems.
We provide standard training courses designed specifically for operators, maintenance staff, technicians and administrators. These can also be customised to your specific needs. With HENSOLDT Blended Learning, we offer a path to your long-term and sustainable learning success.
Our learning portfolio has been systematically designed to support operational efficiency and the cost-effective and time-efficient development of skills – simply select the right course from our training building blocks.
General Information
To get the most out of our courses, we generally recommend that the classroom training be conducted on your own equipment at your own facilities. Our courses usually consist of eight training units (of 45 minutes each) per day but can be adapted to your requirements.
All training sessions are in English. Training documentation is also only provided in English, unless requested otherwise. If translation from English to another language is needed, the length of training may have to be adapted accordingly.
Each participant receives a certificate on completion of a training course.
HENSOLDT Blended Learning is the foundation for your long-term training success. The HENSOLDT Academy training is based on two pillars:
Self-paced training: self-study
Instructor-led training: training that is actively designed and conducted by a trainer

one optimal solution
High level of flexibility in the composition of training courses
Learning content is taught in smaller blocks

What we offer:
As a basic principle, we offer Live Online Training or Web Based Training for your selected course, as currently indicated in the Training Catalogue. In order to obtain the desired Blended Learning effect, you now also have the option to divide the training into theory and practice and to stagger several training modules over time. Your maintainer training with courses OT1 and T2 might look like this, combining the advantages of classroom and online learning:
We provide you with a training course that consists of four areas:
Web Based Training: individual, online learning with a pre-designed course
Live Online Training: theory is taught online by qualified trainers
Knowledge processing: individual deepening of the knowledge gained (self-study)
Classroom training: plenty of time for practical applications under the guidance of a qualified trainer
In the future, we would like to further expand our Blended Learning offering to give you even more flexibility and make even more use of WBT/CBT.
In addition to our current WBT courses, further WBT courses are already in the planning stage – if you are interested in a particular topic, please let us know.
Training Levels
Basic level
Basic Level Training familiarises operators and technicians/maintenance staff with equipment and provides a technical overview of the respective products and their structure. This is useful for project managers, for example. This level is comparable to organisational-level maintenance (OLM) or level 1 maintenance training.
Standard level
To achieve the Standard Level, we enable articipants to work without supervision in standard situations. We train technicians on maintenance tasks up to line replaceable unit (LRU) replacement. Courses at this level are comparable to intermediate-level maintenance (ILM) or level 2 maintenance training.
Operators learn to perform their standard assignments and to use the full functional scope of the respective products without higher-level assistance.
Advanced level
At the Advanced Level, participants are trained to become fully fledged experts in their operational or technical area. Through the combination of in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience, participants are able to provide technical supervision of Standard Level tasks.
The Advanced Maintainer Training includes the management of tasks beyond standard maintenance and may require the use of special tools and test equipment. Such courses are comparable to depot-level maintenance (DLM) or level 3 maintenance training.
The Advanced Operator Training is designed to provide capabilities in the area of system supervision as well as operational configuration and administration.

Technology Training
Our Technology Training provides an introduction to technologies and/or standards, e.g. for air traffic surveillance, without focusing on specific products. These instructor-led courses are designed for anybody – novices and experts alike – who wishes to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in their areas of interest.
Web Based Training
Our Web Based Training provides flexible learning opportunities. This allows each learner to complete a course independently of other participants or a trainer. Mainly theoretical basics are imparted in this kind of training. However, it is also a suitable option for refreshing knowledge on specific products or procedures. For more information about our available WBT and how to register, please contact your In-Service Support Manager or academy@hensoldt.net.
Product Training
Our Product Training provides essential knowledge along defined skill levels related to your HENSOLDT products and systems. For this, we differentiate between three levels of knowledge for operators and technicians/maintenance staff. In advance of each training, we assess the participants’ level of knowledge based on the necessary preconditions for each skill level. Each training is followed by an assessment of the learning experience.
