You seek a field-proven, mobile, remote-controlled unit to provide effective ground-based air defence. There is a need for a software-defined sensor system catering to future viability and flexibility in the theatre of operations.
You need to detect, track and classify air targets with a particular emphasis on small, fast and low-flying and/or manoeuvring cruise missiles and aircraft as well as hovering helicopters. You seek excellent survivability in highly congested combat environments.
The system you need should be transportable on standard platforms and provide multi-functional surveillance and target acquisition utilising recognised tactical pictures and weapon assignment.
Our solution
Our solution to the need for a mobile air defense unit that can effectively detect, track, and classify small, fast, low-flying targets while ensuring high survivability in congested combat environments, is the HENSOLDT TRML-4D. This air defence radar offers surveillance and tracking of more than 1,500 targets in parallel, including fighter aircraft (track range > 120 km) and supersonic missiles (track range > 60 km).
With a minimum range of < 200 m, our system offers multiple capabilities that include target categorisation, cued search, cued tracking, own weapon tracking (also known as ‘skin track’), kill indication and overflight tracking.
This sensor system can be transported on cross-country trucks (e.g. the MAN HX77) that are equipped with 20-ft ISO container fittings.
