MSR1000I
(Very) short-range IFF interrogatorThe challenge
Today’s armed forces today often only have moments in which to make decisions and quickly take the decisive steps that a mission requires. Such situations call for an identification system designed for command and control. The system must enable military and civilian air traffic control interrogators to identify whether aircraft, vehicles or forces are friendly or not, and to determine their bearing and range from the interrogator.
These capabilities must be derived from secure, reliable, real-time information that, among other things, allows forces to distinguish between friendly and hostile forces, while, of course, avoiding friendly fire.
The required capability is known as ‘IFF’ – Identification Friend or Foe.
Our solution
The situation requires a solution for short-range air traffic control, air defence systems, counter-UAV and navigation radars. It must be able to be integrated into ground stations, vehicles and ships. The MSR1000I interrogator is a combat-proven secondary radar for SHORAD (Short Range Air Defence) systems.
It operates in all IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) modes, including Mode S for air traffic surveillance. The lightweight, compact MSR1000I interrogator is a monopulse secondary radar featuring the advanced IFF Mode 5 standard. The MSR1000I is designed to meet a wide range of military air surveillance operational requirements.
