BARÜ
Modern radar system for the German Armed ForcesThe challenge
The Ground-Based Reconnaissance and Surveillance System (BARÜ) is a state-of-the-art mobile radar system specifically developed to meet the needs of the German Armed Forces.
It supports the reconnaissance and artillery units of the German Army in the precise detection and tracking of moving targets, as well as in the targeted support of artillery operations.
Our solution
The system utilises an advanced combination of a pulse-Doppler radar and phased-array antenna, enabling a compact design and extended battery life.
An integrated AI algorithm for target classification represents a significant technological advancement, marking a generational leap in radar technology.
Additionally, the BARÜ system offers near-unrestricted operational capability day and night and in all weather conditions, allowing for continuous reconnaissance and monitoring of large areas with minimal personnel.
BARÜ is being realised in cooperation between ESG and ELTA Systems Ltd. from Israel.
