You need to detect aircraft of a wide range of sizes, speeds and altitudes. You must monitor unmanned aerial vehicles and drones while also contending with increasing numbers of wind turbines near airports. You also face highly dynamic, cluttered environments and interference from disturbing signals such as 4G/LTE.

ASR-NG is a multi-beam 3D S-band solid-state approach control primary and secondary surveillance radar and en-route control sensor. It meets ICAO Annex 10 Volume III/IV and EUROCONTROL surveillance standard requirements.
The system implements a fully digital Doppler detection and tracking solution with highly flexible and self-learning clutter and site-optimisation capabilities. Using a three-horn antenna feed, ASR-NG also offers the unique feature of 3D target detection with PSR. This third beam permits measurement and calculation of altitudes of non-cooperative targets, e.g. aircraft with or without their transponder turned off.
