GEW MRD72 is a compact, all-in-one signals intelligence solution designed specifically for applications where durability, size, weight and rugged construction is of vital importance, while compromising on performance is not an option.

With simultaneous direction finding and wideband monitoring functionality integrated in a military ruggedised solution, the MRD72 is an ideal solution for use in various environments. Building on the field-proven MRD7 direction finder, the MRD72 is enhanced with an advanced compact processor, offering four digital down-converter (DDC) channels.

This enables the unit to deliver extremely accurate spectrum results over a very wide frequency range. Robust single-capture algorithms ensure exceptional short-burst signal detection. With the man-pack antenna configuration, the MRD72 is operated on the move by dismounted EW teams to support intelligence gathering and clandestine reconnaissance missions.

The MRD72’s full band compact mobile antenna is ideal for vehicle installations ranging from small commercial vehicles to armoured personnel carriers. This mobile antenna is also used in a transportable role, typically deployed at command posts to provide tactical awareness and early-warning information to battlefield commanders.

In combination with application-specific antennas and software, the MRD72’s compact design and stringent environmental qualification also makes it suitable for use as a COMINT payload on light reconnaissance aircraft in support of policing, patrol, rescue and intelligence-gathering operations.
