Taufkirchen, 20 December 2024 – For the fifth time, employees of the sensor solutions provider HENSOLDT have taken part in a Christmas gift campaign at the company's sites in Ulm, Immenstaad, Fürstenfeldbruck and Taufkirchen. The active support of our employees has made it possible to fulfil the wishes of disadvantaged children in the regions.

Many children have to struggle with poverty in their everyday lives and therefore have no chance of receiving gifts or comfort at Christmas. This also affects children who have had to flee because of war and leave everything behind in their home country. The disadvantaged children attend schools in Ulm, live in children's homes, are cared for by foster families or have a family living below the poverty line. To bring a little joy into the lives of these children, HENSOLDT has once again organised the annual ‘Christmas presents’ campaign at four of its German sites.

In cooperation with the ‘Aktion 100,000’ campaign and other social institutions in and around Ulm, a total of 500 families were supported this year. The gifts were sent to, among others, ‘guterhirte’, a working group for foreign children, the child protection agency, Jörg-Syrlin-Grundschule, Adalbert-Stifter-GMS, Schillerschule Erbach, Albrecht-Berblinger-GS and Oberlin e.V.. ‘We are pleased to be able to help some children and to offer our employees a platform for social engagement,’ said Daniel Neumaier, project manager at HENSOLDT and organiser of the campaign in Ulm.

At the same time, further activities were taking place at the Taufkirchen, Fürstenfeldbruck and Immenstaad sites on Lake Constance. In Immenstaad, 75 lovingly wrapped gifts were handed over to the Caritas association for the Linzgau deanery, which will distribute them to children in need in the region. Manfred Köder and Otmar Sulger handed over the donations to the Caritas representatives on behalf of the HENSOLDT staff. ‘With this fundraising campaign, we as a team would like to give a little hope and joy,’ explained Manfred Köder at the handover. According to Caritas, families have once again requested winter jackets, bedding and shoes this year, items for daily life that many families can no longer afford.

The employees at the Taufkirchen site collected 1,000 euros for Christmas presents for the children of the Saalberghaus in Putzbrunn. Nora Urban, PR Manager, presented the deputy director, Monika Strauch, with a taxi tricycle for the ‘Turtles’ emergency admissions group, a Kettcar with trailer for the ‘Bears’ group, and a voucher for a trip to the Poing wildlife park.

The colleagues in Fürstenfeldbruck took part in a joint Christmas donation campaign for the children of the ‘Don Bosco’ group of the St. Alban children's home in Dießen am Ammersee. The children lovingly make beautiful, imaginatively designed Christmas cards, or decorated table candles, lucky stones, and lavender sachets, which can then be purchased for a donation.
