Ulm, December 19, 2023 – The employees of sensor solutions provider HENSOLDT have collected gifts for over 700 children for the fourth time in a Christmas gift campaign at the Ulm, Immenstaad on Lake Constance and Taufkirchen near Munich locations.
Many German children struggle with poverty and serious illness in their everyday lives and therefore have no chance of receiving presents or comfort at Christmas. This also applies to some Ukrainian children who had to flee due to the outbreak of war and leave everything behind in their home country. The disadvantaged children live in children's homes, have severe health problems, are in palliative care wards or have families living below the poverty line. To give these children at least a little joy, HENSOLDT has once again organized its annual "Christmas presents" campaign.
In cooperation with "Aktion 100.000" and other social institutions in Ulm, a total of 600 families were supported this year. In Ulm, the gifts went to the "Guter Hirte" children's home, the Ulm Child Protection Association, the Jörg Syrlin School, the Albrecht Berblinger Primary School, the Förder¬kreis ausländische Kinder e.V., Oberlin - Einrichtung für Jugendhilfe, the Schiller School in Erbach and the refugee shelters of the city of Ulm, among others. "We are delighted to be able to help some of the children and offer our employees a platform for social commitment," says Daniel Neumaier, Project Manager at HENSOLDT and organizer of the campaign in Ulm.
At the same time, further campaigns were held at the Taufkirchen and Immenstaad sites on Lake Constance. In Taufkirchen, the gifts from HENSOLDT employees - in cooperation with the organization PädCare e.V. - can be used to comfort children in intensive care and palliative care units. In Immenstaad, the gifts went via the Kinderstiftung Bodense e.V. to children in socially disadvantaged families who cannot afford presents at Christmas.
