Employees donate to help children suffering from cancer

Robert Haarmann, Head of Quality hands, over the symbolic check to Elvira Wäckerle, chairwoman of the “Förderverein für tumor- und leukämiekranke Kinder Ulm e.V”

Ulm, Germany, 21 January 2019 – HENSOLDT employees from the Quality department donated 1030 Euros to a charity, which helps children suffering from cancer and their families.

"I am grateful that we can support this important cause. I would like to thank all my colleagues for their contribution," said Robert Haarmann, Head of Quality at HENSOLDT, at the hand-over of the donation. Elvira Wäckerle accepted the cheque in the name of the charity. She is chairwoman of the “Förderverein für tumor- und leukämiekranke Kinder Ulm e.V” (Association for children suffering from tumours and leukaemia in Ulm, Germany).

This association has been helping children suffering from cancer and their families for over 30 years. The honorary commitment of the association includes the care of parents and siblings and enables the creation of additional medical positions, regular appearances of clinic clowns, the support of research projects as well as the purchase of expensive medical equipment.

Through the commitment of the association, many parents and relatives of children with cancer find help and support. They can recharge their batteries in the family houses and recreational facilities, regain their courage and be relieved in these difficult times.

"In order to be able to offer our services, we are dependent on donations, as we do not receive any public funds. We would therefore like to thank you very much for your generosity," said Elvira Wäckerle.

All proceeds flow directly to the association and benefit the children and their families.
