“ALPHA” is a German acronym whose letters stand for active performance and productive behaviour at the workplace. ALPHA is managed and organised by the apprentices in their second year of training. For one year they have the destiny and the activities of the junior company in their own hands. In September of each year, the management of ALPHA is passed down to the next year’s apprentices.
Both technical as well as commercial apprentices are active in ALPHA. They thus learn a sense of responsibility and independence, how to run a company, how to work in a team and how to acquire new knowledge in a practical way.
One of ALPHA’s tasks is to sell HENSOLDT advertising material internally at the company’s sites. This means that the apprentices manage the catalogue of advertising materials, set the prices, accept the purchase orders, check the stock levels, make the deliveries and deal with the invoicing. This is how ALPHA should be able to finance itself.
Other tasks include small electronic and mechanical projects, repairs, the sale of used PCs and accessories, digitalisations as well as supporting the technical departments.
Since HENSOLDT has entered the market as an independent company, ALPHA has taken up more extensive tasks and is constantly developing. For the challenges which are coming up, the apprentices will be energetically supported by their trainers so that they can also get to learn things outside of their normal apprenticeship syllabus.
