Ulm, December 15, 2020 – With the personal handover of the EN9100 certificate by Dr. Rolf Krökel, Managing Director of DEKRA Certification GmbH to Peter Schlote, COO HENSOLDT, HENSOLDT Holding GmbH, HENSOLDT Sensors GmbH and HENSOLDT Optronics GmbH have successfully achieved their multiple site certification for EN9100.
Quality management according to the DIN standard EN 9100 means meeting customer requirements: It is the definition of quality. Quality management in the aerospace industry aims to ensure the safety, reliability and quality of products. Aerospace and defence is a sensitive industry with special demands on the products. In addition to the customers, the aviation authorities place very high demands on the products. Manufacturers must therefore be aware of possible safety risks of their products and reduce these to a minimum.
Only a functioning quality management system enables aerospace organisations to ensure quality along the entire supply chain.
Thanks to the EN 9100 multiple site certification of HENSOLDT Holding GmbH, HENSOLDT has succeeded in achieving further cost savings, such as the site audit every three years.
The auditors were impressed by the commitment and passion of the employees during the audit. Furthermore, the auditors praised the process harmonisation of HENSOLDT Holding, Sensors and Optronics GmbH carried out to date through the new cloud-based management system, which is unique in this form.
"We have achieved this overall result thanks to the high level of competence and willingness of the individual participants. In view of the next audit in 2021, we will identify further potential for improvement and press ahead with further harmonisation," says Duro Obad, Head of BMS/Quality Management System at HENSOLDT.
The three auditors from the certification company DEKRA thanked all those involved for the constructive, open atmosphere and good communication during the audit. They certified the management the high standard of the HENSOLDT management system, which in their opinion is trend-setting due to the internet-based provision of the cloud business system.
