Objectives

  • Have a detailed understanding of Mode 5 operations
  • Have a detailed understanding of how the QRTK operates and communicates with the host
  • Use the QRTK (load time and keys, explain and understand crypto behaviour, etc.)
  • Execute preventive maintenance

Operators, maintenance staff and engineers

Prerequisites

  • Basic knowledge of radar technology
  • NATO security clearance

Note

Training includes QRTKxNG – Basic training (OT1) and Operator training (O2). Hardware to be provided by the customer: IFF host (transponder or interrogator) for the practical session, QRTKxNG cryptographic computer (which can be connected to the host), key and time loader (or a time loader and a key loader) with Mode 5 test keys. This training course is conducted by two trainers.
