Taufkirchen, 12. January 2024 – Sensor specialist HENSOLDT is starting the year with good intentions and is launching a program to promote employee volunteering.
Nowadays, companies are faced with the growing expectation of assuming social and ecological responsibility. This is leading to an increased emphasis on corporate citizenship (CC) initiatives, as part of ESG (Environmental Social Governance) efforts. "One of the cornerstones of our ESG strategy is to take responsibility in the social environment of our sites and to support local communities, says HENSOLDT CEO Thomas Müller. "A decisive factor that influences the success of CC programs is the commitment of our employees."
Organizations in which employees volunteer outside of their working hours can now receive monetary support from HENSOLDT. Joint social projects and ideas within the team can also be supported in future if the team carries out charitable work together in their free time. The aim is to support local and regional organizations that are active in the social, educational, and environmental sectors. There is a clear focus on people who need help.
The program applies to HENSOLDT's locations in Germany. In France and South Africa, HENSOLDT already has a corporate volunteering program and supports local employee initiatives. All projects submitted can win a so-called "Hero Award" within the company next year, which will be presented internationally.
