Mouscron, 30 April 2024 – HENSOLDT Nexeya Belgium has just been inaugurated in Mouscron in the presence of representatives of the Belgian Ministry of Defence.

HENSOLDT Nexeya Belgium, the legal entity created by the international HENSOLDT group, was inaugurated at a ceremony in Mouscron on 19 April attended by around 40 representatives from Belgian and French industry and the Belgian Minister of Defence, Ludivine Dedonder, who made a video presentation.

HENSOLDT Nexeya Belgium was initially created in 2021 after HENSOLDT won a multi-million-euro contract from Kership to supply the multifunction consoles for the 12 new Belgian-Dutch minehunters (rMCM programme led by Belgium Naval & Robotics - a consortium of Naval Group and Exail Robotics). After recruiting a team in Mouscron, the new HENSOLDT Nexeya Belgium entity took charge of the design and manufacture of the new consoles, which will be produced in Belgium until 2027, using a local industrial base and a 100 per cent Belgian supply and production chain based on a partnership with Belgian companies C-MEC, NCS and Connect Group.

This business success was recently renewed thanks to two new contracts signed in 2024 with Naval Group: the first in March for the supply of simulation consoles used in operator training, and the second in April for the supply of consoles to equip the French Navy's seven new ocean-going patrol boats.

On the ocean patrol vessels, the aim of these consoles will be to provide operators with the human-machine interfaces (HMI) needed to operate Naval Group's combat management system (SDC).

Aliette Quint, President of HENSOLDT Nexeya Belgium said: "The establishment of HENSOLDT Nexeya Belgium marks an important step for the HENSOLDT Nexeya France group and more broadly for the HENSOLDT group to which it belongs. This initiative is in line with our vision of helping to create a safer tomorrow by putting our expertise at the service of vitally important industrial and defence projects. I am also proud that the design and production of the MCMV consoles in Mouscron will contribute to economic growth in the region.

Geert Mansvelt, Deputy Managing Director of HENSOLDT Nexeya Belgium added: "Today we are celebrating not only the opening of the HENSOLDT Nexeya Belgium site in Mouscron, but also the successful deliveries of the first batches of consoles to equip the first two MCM ships: Oostende and Vlissingen. As a member of the Belgian DTIB (Defence and Technology Industrial Base), HENSOLDT Nexeya Belgium is proud to contribute to Belgium's Essential Security Interests (ESI) through its industrial cooperation with Belgium Naval and Robotics.
