13 June 2018 – HENSOLDT Optronics, formerly part of Carl Zeiss AG and now part of the sensor solutions provider HENSOLDT, donated the amount of 5,000 euros to the Creative Workshop in Oberkochen. “That is a more than generous donation,” said Peter Traub, Mayor of Oberkochen, happily when Andreas Hülle, CEO of HENSOLDT Optronics, handed over the symbolic cheque.
“The work in the Creative Workshop is extremely important as it arouses young people’s interest in such things as science and technology at an early age,” said Andreas Hülle, CEO of HENSOLDT Optronics. “At HENSOLDT, we are always looking for well-trained specialists such as systems and software engineers or optics designers. Interest in technology is essential to such professions.” The Creative Workshop has been collaborating with schools in Oberkochen for many years and also offers special courses called the “Mini Researchers”.
HENSOLDT Optronics’ activities range from the production of high-tech optical instruments for use on land, at sea and in the air to participation in space missions, e.g. for measuring the altitude of Ganymede, one of Jupiter’s moons, by means of lasers. “We have been located in Oberkochen for almost 80 years and feel closely connected with the region,” said Andreas Hülle. “Therefore, we regularly support local educational facilities and social projects.”
