HENSOLDT establishes footprint in France

Former Airbus DS Electronics and Border Security SAS becomes HENSOLDT France SAS

Munich/Paris, 27 April 2018 – HENSOLDT completed yesterday the acquisition of Airbus DS Electronics and Border Security SAS, a France-based company which offers highly secure data link solutions and a range of IFF (identification friend or foe) products.

HENSOLDT had been formed from the sale of Airbus Group’s defence electronics business to the leading global private equity firm KKR. While the sale of the Germany-based activities was finalized in February 2017 with Airbus maintaining a temporary 25.1% minority stake until the full separation of the sites, the sale of the France-based activities followed a different regulatory and site separation process leading to the closing achieved on 26 April 2018.

The new HENSOLDT France SAS based in Plaisir, close to Paris, generates revenues of approximately € 20 Million per year with a workforce of 60 people. It is led by Philippe Guibourg, President of HENSOLDT France SAS.

The acquisition allows HENSOLDT, a leading independent provider in defence electronics, to establish a footprint in France and to expand its line of products in the domains of IFF (interrogators, cryptographic computers, test equipment) and high rate data link solutions, dedicated to missiles or to airborne mission systems (mission aircraft, helicopters, UAVs).
