HENSOLDT donates to support ill, disabled and traumatised children

HENSOLDT in Friedrichshafen started the year 2018 with a donation of 1,000 euros to the so-called “Drachenkinder” (Dragon Children) of the station Radio 7. For many years, Radio 7’s “Drachenkinder” organisation has supported ill, disabled and traumatised children in the region. Assuming responsibility and supporting our local communities is an integral part of our HENSOLDT culture.

Donation for the “Drachenkinder” (from left to right): Thomas Hoepfner, Chairman of the HENSOLDT Works Council in Immenstaad, Nicole Poppe, Head of Human Resources at the site, and Frank Döngi, Head of Site in Immenstaad

Frank Doengi, Head of the HENSOLDT site in Friedrichshafen (Immenstaad), Nicole Poppe, Head of Human Resources at the site, and Thomas Hoepfner, Chairman of the Works Council in Immenstaad, handed over a symbolic cheque to the managing editor Jürgen Balzer, in the Radio 7 studio.

The donation is composed of the cash receipts from selling old computers. Besides being a good corporate citizen, opposite to the social disadvantaged, we also take care about our environment. With selling the old computers and equipment we help to not produce too much electronic waste. Through the support of the Human Resources department the donation was perfectly completed.

HENSOLDT - former Airbus - already supports the Radio 7 Drachenkinder since years in Ulm, same as in Friedrichshafen. “As big employer of the region we see it in our social responsibility to support families that bear social concerns”, states Frank Doengi the Head of site in Friedrichshafen. May it be due to medical conditions, social disadvantages or poverty; we as HENSOLDT want to help towards the deprived amongst us.
