Taufkirchen/Germany, 8 December 2021 – Sensor solutions provider HENSOLDT is participating in the review of the 9100 certification standards for the aerospace and defence industry. With this commitment, the company is confirming its role as a key player in the aerospace and defence sector.
Recently announced during an European Aerospace Quality Group (EAQG) meeting, the International Aerospace Quality Group® (IAQG) is beginning its five-year review of the 9100 series standards. Since their last revision, a lot of input has been gathered and now needs to be incorporated.
As a company in the aerospace production chain, applying and maintaining EN 9100, EN 9110 and EN 9120 standards means the company's products and services will be in greater demand in the aerospace and defence sector. Certification, which provides evidence that companies meet the requirements of these standards, is essential for the award of international contracts.
IAQG is in charge of the further development of the EN 9100 series, as is the EAQG, with whose help European interests are represented. In the EAQG, the German aerospace industry is, in turn, represented by the BDLI.
The mission of the IAQG is to establish global quality systems and improvement standards. HENSOLDT is one of 27 full members of the IAQG (10 members of the AAQG - Americas Aerospace Quality Group, 10 members of the EAQG - European Aerospace Quality Group and 7 members of the APAQG - Asia Pacific Aerospace Quality Group).
