In Berlin, HENSOLDT will be showing a precise image of the airspace generated by its passive radar system “Twinvis”. The system does not emit an active signal, but instead detects several transmission sources from the electromagnetic spectrum from different locations. It can also interconnect several sensors to form a sensor cluster. The transmitters and the “Twinvis” sensors can be up to 100 kilometres apart. In contrast to systems that rely on signals emitted by the target, “Twinvis” can detect targets based solely on the available spectrum.
TRML-4D is the latest member of the HENSOLDT family of ground-based C-band (NATO G-band) air defence radars. HENSOLDT is demonstrating a state-of-the-art system that is currently being used for air defence in Ukraine. TRML-4D utilises the latest AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) radar technology with multiple digitally shaped beams. It is designed for short- and long-range surface-to-air detection and weapon designation. It is capable of detecting, tracking and classifying different types of air targets, with a focus on small, fast and low-flying cruise missiles and aircraft, as well as helicopters and drones. It ensures the rapid detection and tracking of around 1,500 targets within a radius of up to 250 kilometres and at an altitude of up to 30 kilometres.
With “Kalaetron Integral”, HENSOLDT presents a fully integrated signal intelligence system that enables the detection and depth analysis of both communication and radar signals in a previously unattainable bandwidth with a single integrated system. Due to its fully digital design, “Kalaetron Integral” detects radar and communication signals within a very short time over a wide frequency range. Through automatic resource allocation and software-defined tasks, communication and radar signals can not only be detected, analysed and monitored by a single system, but the relationships between these emissions can also be evaluated. “Kalaetron Integral” as a single system thus fulfils tasks that currently require the use of several specific COMINT (Communication Intelligence) and ELINT (Electronic Intelligence) systems.
With the “Airborne Missile Protection System” AMPS, HENSOLDT is presenting a flexible sensor suite for the self-protection of helicopters and aeroplanes. AMPS is capable of combining different types of warning sensors, countermeasures and other avionics equipment to protect the platform and its crew from a variety of threats, such as infrared, laser and radar-guided surface-to-air and air-to-air missiles.
