Toulouse, 4 June 2024 – As part of the modernisation of the Slovenian Navy's multi-purpose fast patrol vessel Triglav, HENSOLDT Nexeya France and its local partner PANNAPLUS have won the contract to upgrade the ship's Combat System and associated sensors.

To protect the country's 50 kilometres of Adriatic coastline, the Slovenian Navy has a fleet of two ships, which also play an active role in NATO naval operations. This was notably the case in the Mediterranean Sea as part of Operation Sophia under the European Union's Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP).

With a view to increasing efficiency and integration within the Alliance's forces, the Slovenian Navy has decided to upgrade the capabilities of the main ship in its fleet, the Triglav, whose name evokes Slovenia's highest summit and also means 'Three Heads'.

HENSOLDT Nexeya France will supply a comprehensive solution including the latest version of the LYNCEA combat management system and an L22 Tactical Data Link to increase interoperability with NATO forces. As part of the contract, HENSOLDT Nexeya France will also provide a new Human Machine Interface (HMI) for its LYNCEA solution, making it more intuitive and ergonomic for operators. In addition, HENSOLDT Nexeya France will be integrating various effectors and sensors from the international HENSOLDT group to which the company belongs: a Kelvin Hughes Mk11 SharpEye, an IFF LTR 400 transponder and a GMJ9 Detector and Autonomous Scrambler.

“Following the recent deployment of the LYNCEA operational chain in the Mauritanian Navy and the modernisation of the Indonesian Navy's minehunters, we are proud that the Slovenian Navy has decided to adopt our system,” says Philippe Guibourg, President of HENSOLDT France SAS and head of defence activities at HENSOLDT Nexeya France. “Slovenia thus becomes the twelfth navy to operate the LYNCEA solution both in France and throughout the world, proof of the continued export success of the excellent solutions offered by French companies in the defence sector, of which HENSOLDT Nexeya France is a part,” added Aliette Quint, President of HENSOLDT Nexeya France.

LYNCEA naval systems currently equip around forty patrol boats and frigates, including the French Navy's POM (Patrouilleurs d'Outre-Mer).

Work on the Triglav patrol boat began in April 2024 and is scheduled to last 24 months.
