About

MissionGrid is a scalable mission system that takes full advantage of the rich feature set provided by the HENSOLDT radar and electro-optic sensor range. Combined with data fusion and mission management software, MissionGrid provides a capability increase that enables a single aircraft to fly multiple missions. This opens up greater revenue earning options for contracted air service providers and delivers greater value to government and military operators.

In order to minimise integration risk onto the aircraft, HENSOLDT provides the Airborne Systems Integration Lab. This VPN-accessible facility replicates the complete aircraft mission system and operational environment for verification testing, certification and synthetic training.

MissionGrid can be expanded for aircraft operations in contested, hostile or GPS-denied airspace. This includes protection from multiple threats such as ballistic, RF and optically guided weapons.

Design Integration Services and Synthetic Training

Reducing Integration Risk

HENSOLDT provides a comprehensive range of support services that minimise integration risk at the earliest stages of the project. These include system-level design for the complete mission system that can be fully simulated, tested and verified in the Airborne Systems Integration Lab prior to installation onto the aircraft. In addition, HENSOLDT can perform all regulatory EASA/FAA-mandatory cybersecurity assessments in the simulated lab environment.


Training simulation framework

HENSOLDT provides a simulation framework to train mission operators to perform an extensive range of CONOPS without the cost of dedicated training flights. The simulator emulates both rotary and fixed-wing aircraft and comprises cockpit displays, flight controls, mission consoles and an instructor station. Multiple training scenarios can be recreated in a fully immersive LVC (Live, Virtual & Constructive) environment.


Remote diagnostics and performance-based logistics

Using the Airborne Connectivity System, HENSOLDT can remotely connect to the aircraft via a cyber-secure link to diagnose any potential fault conditions and perform Over the Air (OTA) software updates.

Systems Integration Lab

  • Simulates full functionality of PrecISR and ARGOS-II using synthetic radar and electro-optic imagery.
  • Combined with a flight path generator and terrain database, the ASIL can simulate any flight profile world-wide.
  • This provides a hardware environment to de-risk new mission system architectures.
  • The ASIL can be used on-site or accessed remotely via a secure VPN, enabling customers to develop and test their own data fusion algorithms.
